iPoints app shoots up the chart

iPoints - the first official third level app designed for students to calculate their Leaving Cert points - was launched by the University in time for the latest round of results. The free app was designed in partnership with former IT student Paul Herron, who explains: “The app aims to simplify the point calculation process for students to relieve some of the stress of Leaving Cert results day.” The app adds up the user's points instantaneously, including any bonus points for Higher Maths or scores from LCVP.

iPoints also gives students the option to share their results by text message or through social media, making it easier to tot them up and show them off. It has proven so popular with students that it has been the number one Education app in Ireland for over two weeks.

The NUI Galway iPoints app is available for all iPhone users on the iTunes store now www.tinyurl.com/NUIGalwayApp
