Alongside the general orientation for all First Year students, the Access Centre hosts specific inductions for students entering First Year via the Access, DARE, HEAR, FET or Mature Student pathways.

Students will receive an email from the Access Centre with a link to the relevant information for their specific induction based on their entry pathway.

Mature Students | QQI (FETAC) | Access | Foundation

Transitioning to University Programme (TUP):

24 - 27 August, 2026.

You are required to register your attendance and you will have received an email with the schedule and link to register. We advise students to attend all four days, if possible.

DARE Scheme

A condition of accepting a DARE reduced points place at the University of Galway is that you must register with the Disability Support Service (DSS). Registering early ensures that reasonable accommodations (such as extra time or an alternative exam venue) can be arranged in time for your first semester.

Disability Support Induction Sessions: please check your email inbox for full details after receiving your CAO offer.

HEAR Scheme

This induction is specifically designed for HEAR entry students and their parents/guardians. This induction takes place prior to the main Orientation. The primary focus is to support your transition to third level and make you aware of the various supports that the University can offer you as a HEAR Student.

Please check your email inbox for full details after receiving your CAO offer and register your attendance.
