At the Discipline of Health Promotion at NUI Galway, we have several Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes on offer. All of our programmes are coordinated, assessed and accredited by the National University of Ireland, Galway. They are developed and taught in conjunction with a variety of partner organisations (for example, Croí, Diabetes Ireland, Dental Health Foundation Ireland, The National Youth Council of IrelandIrish Heart Foundation, Mental Health Ireland) and Government Departments; including the Department of Health, Health Services ExecutiveDepartment of Business, Enterprise and Innovation.

Specialist Certificates in Health Promotion

Are you currently working in a professional capacity in a specialist health promotion field?

Our part-time blended learning Outreach Certificate programmes may be for you!

Each programme takes place over one year, and are open to those working in a professional capacity in a specialist health promotion field. The programmes are designed to meet the needs of health promotion practitioners in specific fields and are run in partnership with specialist agencies. For example, specialist programmes are available in Youth Work, Health-Promotion Training Centres, Sexual Health Promotion, Community Development, and Supportive Environments for Health, all leading to a Certificate in Health Promotion in the chosen specialism. Some programmes are run directly by the Department of Health Promotion at the request of an agency or professional group, others are run in partnership with an agency, to meet the needs of specific practitioners.

BA in Social Care

If you are working in Social Care or have one year's full-time (or equivalent) Social Care experience, then the Honours Bachelor of Arts (Social Care) may be the course for you! For further information about the part-time Honours Bachelor of Arts (Social Care) course including application details and date for online applications please see more information here.
