‘Critical thinking’ is a term that you will probably encounter a lot while you are a student at University of Galway, especially if you are studying the humanities or social sciences. Many lecturers stress the importance of developing critical thinking skills, and such skills are also highly valued in the workplace. But what exactly is critical thinking, and how are you supposed to learn how to do it well?
