2025/26 University of Galway Parking permit
Click below for details on how to apply for your 2025/26 University of Galway Parking Permit.
Staff
We invite you to apply for your 2025/26 University of Galway parking permit. The current permits expire on 31st August. Click on this link to purchase your permit for the new academic year, valid from 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026. This is a virtual online permit which enables you to add or change vehicles but only one vehicle can be protected at a time.
There is a one-month grace period in September to give you time to get your permit in place.
Steps to Purchase Your Permit
- Visit the Online Parking Portal here.
- Click ‘Log in’ (top right-hand corner of screen).
- Type your email address and University password in the boxes provided and then Click ‘Log in with Edugate’.
- You should then see your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Click ‘Apply for Permits’.
- Then scroll down and click the ‘Staff Permit 2025-2026’ option.
- From there you simply check and if necessary, update your vehicle details and other fields. You will get an email to say your permit is approved but that you must complete payment.
- Finally fill out the payment screen with your card details and you will receive a second email called Payment Confirmation.
Common Errors
When logging in to your permit remember to click ‘Log in with Edugate’ which automatically verifies your staff credentials rather than the basic ‘Log in’ option which is provided for campus based third parties such as staff of the catering outlets, Kingfisher and Bank of Ireland etc.
The account holder must ensure that the correct car is selected as the protected vehicle before parking on campus. If you bring a new or replacement car to campus remember to add the new vehicle and make it the protected one. Then it may be useful to set a reminder to change your permit back to the original car if required.
