Global Employers

The Global Employability Team supports businesses in promoting their employer brand on campus and accessing a diverse talent pool of highly skilled international and domestic students within the University of Galway. These students offer global perspectives, multilingual abilities, and innovative problem-solving skills that can add real value to your organisation. Partnering with us reinforces your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion while strengthening your international brand and competitive advantage.

Promote Your Brand - Raise your profile with International Talent

Employers are invited to partner with the Global Employability Team through events and workshops hosted in the Career Development Centre. These sessions offer a valuable opportunity to connect directly with international students while sharing insights on your organisation’s recruitment process, the key skills and competencies you seek in graduates, and how students can craft high-quality CVs tailored to your industry. This engagement not only enhances your employer brand but also helps you build relationships with future talent early in their career journey.

Global Graduate Opportunities - Support Globally Mobile Talent

We recognise the immense value of global experience in preparing students to thrive in an interconnected world. We are actively seeking employer partners who offer international graduate rotations or include global mobility within their graduate programmes. Collaborating with us provides your organisation with access to globally minded graduates who are eager to contribute across borders, bringing adaptability, cultural intelligence, and a global outlook to your workforce. If your organisation supports international mobility for graduates, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us at careers@universityofgalway.ie to explore how we can work together.

Did You Know?

Hiring an international graduate is simpler than you think!

International students (non-EEA) studying in Ireland on Stamp 2 permissions can work part-time (20 hours/week) during term and full-time (40 hours/week) during specific holiday periods. Upon graduation, students qualify for a Stamp 1G visa, allowing full-time employment without restriction or sponsorship for up to 2 years, providing employers with immediate access to qualified international graduates. Employers hiring international graduates can seamlessly transition employees from Stamp 1G to employment permits like the Critical Skills Employment Permit or General Employment Permit from the beginning of their employment, ensuring continuity and compliance in your workforce.
