Research Interests: Exploring contemporary Argentine crime fiction as a form of social critique, with a focus on the intersections between crime literature, representations of violence, systemic power and feminism.

Dr Ivan Kenny  (ivan.kenny@universityofgalway.ie) (on sabbatical 26.27)
Lecturer. AMB-2016.; Academic Integrity Advisor for the SLLC; Chair of the Teaching & Learning Committee. Research Interests: Mid-twentieth century Mexican cultural production with a particular emphasis on spatiality and humour in the works of Luis Buñuel and Juan Rulfo. I am also interested in the spatial dimension of Julio Cortázar's short fiction.

Dr Kate Quinn (kate.quinn@universityofgalway.ie)
Lecturer. AMB-2008. MA Coordinator; 4BA Coordinator, Academic Integrity Advisor for Spanish, EDI Committee for the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. Research Interests: Latin American historical fiction (especially that dealing with the legacy of colonial encounters, and the establishment of the modern nations). Spanish-language crime narrative. Comparative studies in the crime genre. Chilean history, politics, and culture.

Lecturer. AMB-2004. CÉIM Academic Lead; Coordinator for Intermediate Spanish 1BA & 1 BComm Students; Director of the Research Committee for the School of Languages Literatures and Cultures. Research Interests: Latin American 20th- and 21st-century experimental poetry, as well as its relationship to trends in global avant-garde and conceptual writing; object-oriented ontology and new materialism; ecocriticism; visual and sound poetry; Southern Cone poetry and politics.
