Microsoft PowerPlatform Workshop

Microsoft PowerPlatform Workshop

Duration: 1 full day

Facilitator: Nevan McCartin

Course Content:

This in person workshop will bring University of Galway Staff through some Microsoft Power Platform functionality. The Microsoft Power Platform is all about creating end-to-end business solutions.

The Power Platform allows anyone with knowledge of a business process to accelerate innovation and reduce the administration of day-to-day operations. The workshop aims to show University of Galway staff what the Power Platform is and the business value it creates, in a straightforward, accessible way. Staff will be shown the value of working within the Power Platform through case studies showing how it has been leveraged to automate everyday tasks to date in the University.

Staff on the course will be taken through building all the components needed to create a flow that would provide real-world administrative value to them in the University.

1) How to create a SharePoint site and learn sharing fundamentals
2) How to create a SharePoint list
3) How to create an MS Form
4) Learn how to write responses from the MS Form to the SharePoint List using PowerAutomate
5) Learn how to create a flow that requires an approval step 6) Learn how to create a flow that sends a receipt notification to the applicant

By the end of the workshop, staff will have taken part in a build-along session for all the above, making their first end-to-end automated solution using their own university accounts. We will also make time for Q&As on how participants might leverage the Power Platform for their own business-specific needs.
