International Student Orientation

Semester 1 (Fall) Orientation 2025/26 will take place in the Bailey Allen Hall on the following dates:

  • Visiting Students Support Services Orientation 1 pm - 4 pm Monday 1 September

  • Visiting Students Academic Orientation 8:30 am - 4 pm Tuesday 2 September

  • Postgraduate Students Support Services 9.30 am - 12pm Wednesday 3 September

We strongly recommend that you attend your relevant session as you will be given important information on all the supports and activities available to you, such as clubs, societies, library, IT, timetables, examination arrangements, health services, banking, immigration process (for students who don't have an EU passport), Active Consent and much more.

It is also a great opportunity to meet all the other new students from around the world, have some fun and get your hands on some spot prizes.

HEAR, DARE, Disability Support Service Inductions

For students who have been deemed HEAR eligible or DARE eligible through the CAO process, can get information on orientation and inductions sessions on this webpage

Transitioning to University Programme (TUP) Induction

The annual 4-day programme for Mature students, Access/Foundation Students and students who come into undergraduate study through the FET/QQI pathway, is due to take place from Monday 24- 27 August 2026 in the Computer Science Building.

Over the 4 days, you will meet with other incoming students, current students, support services, Student Support Officers, Library colleagues, Careers Development Centre, and other important topics will be covered, i.e. Applied Writing, Study Skills, Library tour, Campus tours and information on systems here in University of Galway.
