The new T4 CMS Training for v8 is now Available

We recommend you take this training as soon as possible.

It can be difficult to find the time to do a day's training so we've designed a course that adapts to your work day.  It is made up of a number of short videos and tasks, which can be taken all at once or split into multiple sessions to suit everyone's schedule.

Once you complete the course you will be able to download a digital badge. You will need this badge when requesting support.

This Course is Mandatory for all T4 Users

  • If you were trained before, you'll learn new features in T4 v8, how to easily meet new legal requirements, and better approaches for common tasks.
  • If you never received T4 training, before, you will learn everything you need to take maximum advantage of this powerful CMS's features.

A mandatory course ensures that:

  • All users are comfortable with the terminology & concepts, needed to benefit fully from:
    • responses to their user support queries.
    • the T4 self-help site.
  • All users share a common level of competency in web editing – to ensure our public-facing website meets the standards the University is legally obliged to uphold.
  • There will be a lesser demand for user support - allowing the ISS web team to improve existing website / CMS features & introduce new ones.

Note: Now that the T4 CMS course is available, we have reinstated our policy of providing T4-related user support to trained users only.

Time Required

This on-demand course involves 4 hours 15 minutes of video tuition, split into bite-sized videos, alongside tasks for you to complete. In total, the course will take approx. 6 hours to complete, depending on how quickly you complete each task.

The course does not need to be done in 1 sitting – if you prefer to give it half an hour each day, it will track your progress, so you can easily pick up from where you left off, next time.

Just remember these important rules:

  • The entire course should be completed on 1 computer (and in the same browser).
Please do not complete some of it at work, and the other half at home – if you do, both browsers will think you've only completed some of the course - and you won't get a course completion badge (which you'll need later).
  • Don't clear the cookies on the browser.
If you do, it will not remember which videos/tasks you have completed.

Digital Badge

Once the course is completed you will receive a digital badge. You have the option to copy or download the badge to your computer and we recommend you do that straight away.

You'll need to supply this badge number if you ever request T4-related support from ISS.
So, we recommend you email your digital badge to yourself, once you get it.

Warning: Your browser will try to remember the badge for you, so that it will re-appear whenever you re-visit the course page. But if you ever say 'no' to functionality cookies, your browser will instantly forget your digital badge details.

If you work from home after taking the course in the office - or vice versa - your other computer won't know anything about your digital badge.  And when you eventually replace your computer, your new one won't know your digital badge number.
But if you email the digital badge to yourself, you will always be able to find it - on any computer.
