Academic Recruitment

Post Owner must complete a RIF - Academic, Job Description/Employee Spec and return to HR Recruitment before the recruitment competition is progressed. Confirmation that the post has been approved at College Executive should also be provided.
If the post is research funded, we will accept College Finance Manager/UMT approval for confirmation of funds to advertise the position. However, a PPF Forms - University of Galway is required at post appointment stage from the Research Accounts Office
Please complete the Job Description Template and RIF (Recruitment Initialisation Form) paperwork for the position you wish to advertise (available in the Recruitment Forms section on the University of Galway website).
Please submit the completed forms to recruit@universityofgalway.ie at least 3 weeks before your intended Advertising Dates.
Requests for advertisement will be dealt with in order of receipt. Please review the recruitment and selection policy for advertising timelines.
A post will not be advertised without a fully completed and approved RIF.
Particular care should be taken in the case of new or renewed fixed term, or temporary posts where objective grounds for the post will be required in order to comply with the terms of relevant legislation.
We must be able to demonstrate that a new fixed term or temporary post, or the further renewal of a current post, is appropriate and necessary to achieve a legitimate objective.
