Academic Recruitment

Post Owner must complete a RIF - Academic, Job Description/Employee Spec and return to HR Recruitment before the recruitment competition is progressed. Please note a a Post Proposal Form (if post is research funded).Confirmation that the post has been approved at College Executive should also be provided.
A fully completed Recruitment Initialising Form(RIF) and Job Description must be emailed to recruit@universityofgalway.ie at least 10 working days (2 weeks) before the advertising date.All requests to advertise a post will be dealt with in order of receipt.
A post will not be advertised without a fully completed and approved RIF.
Particular care should be taken in the case of new or renewed fixed term, or temporary posts where objective grounds for the post will be required in order to comply with the terms of relevant legislation.
We must be able to demonstrate that a new fixed term or temporary post, or the further renewal of a current post, is appropriate and necessary to achieve a legitimate objective.
