QS Subject Ranking Results

In the most recent edition (published April 2024) University of Galway achieved a global rank in 24 subjects (up from 23 in 2023) with the subject of English, Performing Arts and Nursing all ranked in the Top 100 in the world. 

In Summary:

  • English obtained a global rank of 89, up from 91 in 2023, and Performing Arts and Nursing were ranked at 51-100
  • Hospitality & Leisure Management, Law were ranked 101-150 and Medicine was ranked in the Top 200
  • 6 subjects at University of Galway were ranked in the Top 250 in the world – Archaeology, Linguistics, Modern Languages, Environmental Sciences, Civil & Structural Engineering and Education
  • A further 12 subjects at University of Galway were globally ranked between Top 300 to 640 in the world as detailed below.
