Montisa Mariana is a lecturer at Swadaya Gunung Djati University in Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia. She earned her Bachelor's and master's in Law from Islamic University of Indonesia. Before her current career, she worked as an expert power at the House of the Representative Republic of Indonesia.

Her research focused on the protection of women and children, and also about constitutional law. Some of it was presented in meetings and published in scientific articles and journals. Her main interest is in constitutional law, which she found after the Indonesia reformation in 1998, because there were a lot of challenges that Indonesia faced, and she wants to make an academic contribution to Indonesia's development. Her proposed study is related to the role of a constitutional complaint mechanism in strengthening the fundamental rights of the Indonesian citizens. She thinks that the absence of the instrument can be a sign of lacking the protection of human rights. Her Ph.D. research will compare the constitutional complaint mechanism in several countries and, based on that, will find the proposed model, which the Indonesian Government can use.
