Overview
Our psychiatry research at the University of Galway focuses on understanding the causes, treatment, and prevention of mental health disorders across the lifespan. We integrate clinical, translational, and population-based research to address key challenges in areas such as mood disorders, psychosis, and youth mental health.
Working closely with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary research centres, we aim to generate evidence that improves patient outcomes, informs public policy, and strengthens mental health services. Our research contributes actively to the School and College research culture through collaboration, innovation, and engagement with national and international partners.
