THE -Subject Ranking

In addition to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, THE also publish their Subject Rankings annually. These rankings are based on data from the WUR mapped across 11 different subbjects/FOS.  The eleven broad categories of the field of science/subjects are listed below. The results are published annually in the months following the publication of the World rankings. See the field of science/subject ranking results published in October 2022 here referred to as the 2023 subject Rankings.

The subject tables employ the same range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings published in 2023, brought together under five theme indicators; teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and income from industry. However, the overall methodology is carefully recalibrated for each subject, with the weightings changed to suit the individual fields. See more about the THE Rankings Subject Methodology here.
