Professor Nata Duvvury, Director, Centre for Global Women’s Studies, delivered a plenary address, "Violence Against Women: A Multi-Headed Hydra," at the 2026 International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences - Bridging Boundaries: Collaborative Solutions to Complex Social Issues in an Interconnected World at the University of Galway. Nata’s presentation examined protean nature of violence of against women highlighting how it mutates, adapts, and regenerates across spaces, contexts, and time. She emphasised the urgency to move from interventions as an afterthought to embedding structural response that would dismantle the social and political body politic that allows the hydra to regenerate. The conference brings together scholars from around the world to explore critical social issues through interdisciplinary perspectives. Learn more about the conference visit here.
