MIDRONE
Advanced Manufacturing Technologies to enable Intelligent DRONE delivery

Description:
The MIDRONE project, funded by the disruptive technologies innovation fund (DTIF), is developing the next generation of consumer delivery drones. The demand for last mile delivery is rising rapidly. Currently, this demand is being met using traditional road transport, such as cars, vans and bicycles. These activities are labour intensive, hazardous and environmentally unsustainable. The MIDRONE project looks specifically at the application of advanced manufacturing technologies to drone production, in order to provide environmentally friendly and cost effective manufacturing solutions for drone delivery.
