Micro-credential Overview

This module will start with an introduction to the potential roles green hydrogen can play in decarbonisation in the electricity, transportation and industrial sectors. Key national and EU policies and regulations relating to green hydrogen deployment will be described. The course will then review state-of-the-art hydrogen production, storage, transport and end-use technologies. Systematic design methods for green hydrogen systems, encompassing all elements of the value chain and how production interacts with renewable electricity production, will be covered.

The mode of study for this Micro-credential is Online Learning.

Assessment will be carried out on a continuous basis.

From the 1st April 2024 you can apply for any University of Galway Micro-credential through our Online Application Portal

Course Fees

€1,550

Subsided fee: €310

*Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria may qualify for a 80% fee subsidy, subject to the availability of subsidised places.

Entry Requirements 

Applicants must be over 21 years of age.  This course is designed for graduates of Level 8 engineering programmes, who are employed or seeking employment in the energy sector.  Applications can be considered using Recognition of Prior Learning.
